Job Description

A K-12 school district in Elmira, NY, seeks a licensed Social Worker to support the social and emotional well-being of its students for the 2025-2026 academic year. This full-time contract position offers a meaningful opportunity to collaborate with educators, families, and community resources to ensure students thrive academically and personally.

Position Details:

• Duration: September 5, 2025 June 26, 2026
• Weekly Hours: 32 hours
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM 2:45 PM
• Location: Elmira, New York

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to K-12 students addressing behavioral, emotional, and social challenges
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families
• Conduct assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed
• Facilitate referrals to community resources and coordinate services
• Document case findings and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to promote student success

Required Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Social Worker License
• Demonstrated experience working with school-age children and families
• Strong understanding of child development and mental health issues affecting students
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage caseloads efficiently and maintain professional boundaries
