Description
Responsible for monitoring and resolving network issues, supporting customer installations, and maintaining accurate network documentation. Performs installation and testing of network nodes and colocation sites, and provides emergency restoration for fiber and equipment. Maintains colocation facilities and participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation for Tier I network support.
•\tReceive, monitor, analyze, and resolve network problems in a timely manner with minimal oversight.
•\tCoordinate and perform new customer installations for wholesale, enterprise, and colocation customers. This could include structured wiring, NID installation and the addition of pluggable cards and jumpers at the Fiber locations.
•\tProvide proper documentation of network (Site Audit’s, and Inventory Databases).
•\tProvide installation, test and acceptance for nodes and collocations into network.
•\tSupport emergency restoration for aerial and/or buried fiber optic cable in network.
•\tProvide emergency restoration support for network equipment.

•\tWilling to work day, evening, night shifts, overtime, call-ins, weekends, and/or holidays as required. Hours to be worked are determined by job requirements
•\tValid state driver license with clean driving record
•\tSelf-motivated and the ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision
•\tStrong PC skills
•\tStrong oral and written communications skills
•\tMulti-task and maintain composure in a demanding work environment.
•\tTelecommunications equipment installation, preferred
•\tCisco or Alcatel Lucent IP Certifications, preferred
•\tVOIP Switching and maintenance, preferred
•\tFiber optics splicing and maintenance, preferred
•\tSS7/STP support, preferred

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
